Happy Oc’tober!
Since the name of the month is so fitting (”Oc-tober”…get it?), I would like to (unofficially) declare October to be “Ocarina Awareness Month”! What do you do to celebrate, you ask? Get the word out about the ocarina! Post videos of you playing on youtube, share it with your friends at school, perform at your Sunday worship service, take your ocarina “trick-or-treating”, bring your Oc to show-n-tell, play during lunchtime at work instead of eating, or whatever else you can think of.
If possible, please record whatever you do and post on youtube for a chance to be featured in a future episode of OcTalk!
Here are few cool ways people have promoted the ocarina in the past:
Offer other suggestions in the comments below and or tell everyone what you plan to do. Happy Oc’tober!

And the Winner is…
Sorry for posting the winner so late, but with over 100 comments filled with wonderful tales on how you were introduced to the ocarina, the challenges you’ve faced in finding them, and the struggles you’ve endured in purchasing your first Ocs, you can’t blame me for taking my time in choosing only one entry!
But after several hours of reading through comments, contemplating the answers, and begging friends and family for help (lol), I’ve finally settled on winner…non-other than Mr. Clint Brinkley!
Clint was one of the few people not introduced to the ocarina through the Zelda series (which really intrigued me) and has spent much time researching various types of ocarina for his first purchase. I hope that “The Ocarina Guide” will make all his research worthwhile and if the Guide can help his father share the ocarina with his many elementary school students, than that’s good news for the entire ocarina community
Thanks to everyone for participating in the contest, congrats again to Clint, and stay tuned for the official release of “The Ocarina Guide”!
