Hey Man - there's one on Ebay atm - currently at $80 plus $4 shipping within the States. Seeing as how shipping from Taiwan is $24, this is an awesome deal, about 40% off I think. This isn't my auction, just one I found because I often check out the most recent ocarina auctions. Anyway you can check it out HERE.

Don't mess with a tentacle

I have one I may be willing to sell! Wink
Only problem I have is that I do not get home before end of august, and I have never shipped anything international before. Undecided
It's in mint condition, and a soft case from Focalink will be included. As well as a soft cloth to clean it with.

It has the "Stein" logo on it, as a proof that it's not a Focabird.

It has a nice glaze, and it has no spots with a much lighter color like some have.

I tried to upload a picture, but it didn't work

I live in Norway, yes it's the AC double, I was thinking of about $80 + shipping. Smiley

but don't be too hasty now, because I don't get home before sunday, I start on a new school on tuesday, and I probably have a lot to work on apart from that. Finding out how to ship worldwide may also take some time.

ok. im just trying to find a good oc and one i want for in my price range. moneys kinda tight so i need to use the least amount possible. i do want a double but i cant find any for the price i need. i might just have to go with a 12 hole for now. but if i do i want one that looks nice like a Zelda replica or a dragon tooth. are stl Zelda reps good for the money? or if i order a dragon tooth from songbird how long does it take because its always back ordered

I'll repeat what I already wrote in another thread: DON'T buy an ocarina for its shape! The shape of an ocarina is not purely a matter of looks, but influences its sound and playing characteristics. In my opinion you can get better ocarinas for the same amount of money, if you're not focussed on the cool looks of an ocarina.

Haha, Polt, you confused me for a moment when you said don't buy for shape when you follow up how shape is important and a good reason for determining what ocarina ya want.

In anycase, Polt is telling the truth. Don't buy an ocarina just for looks. You also need to question an ocarina's ergonomics, playing style and sound before you really consider getting it as a musical instrument. In this case that is why I usually warn people to be sure that if you get the dragontooth that you're ready to  deal with a sore right thumb (unless you're double jointed there) and a difficult time utilizing sub holes quickly and adeptly. Also the DT is known for being fairly loud. So make sure you want  a loud ocarina.

*lol* Yes, I guess that was a pretty dumb way to express what I wanted to say.  Grin

By all means, DO buy an ocarina for its shape! But for the ergonomic and acoustic qualities of its shape, not primarily for its beauty.

well i don't care if its a Zelda rep or a dragon tooth. what I'm really after is something that's decent and is only around $90 after shipping is applied. i just said those two because there around $100 new so if someone would sell it for cheaper i could probably get one and i know they are good ocs. if you know one around that price that's good let me know. how about this one?
http://www.songbirdocarina.com/sweet-potato-ocarinas?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=67&category_id=12 it comes out to $79 after shipping is that worth the  money?

Yah that's a very popular ocarina and its a good price. The top couple notes are pretty hard to play clearly, but it can be done well enough. Overall it's great, as pretty much all Focalinks are!

Personally for me, yes. It is awkward switching between fingers when you really need to use the different subholes a lot. It's easier for me to be switching between subs when I have different hands to control each sub.

You could order the Focalink directly from Focalink:
http://www.focalink.com.tw
If bought from Focalink, the subholes are on different hands. It also gives you the choice between the "A" and "B" models. Songbird only sells the "B" models, which are a bit more dynamic, needing more breath pressure on the high notes, where the "A" models use a more even breath throughout the range.
