When you enter a forum catergory, you have to read each one to mark it as being read.  I am just suggesting a button that will "Mark all messages as read" or "Mark all messages as unread".  =)

Ahh, Ok. I see what you mean now. That IS actually currently being worked on, so look forward to that soon. Wink

And this would most likely be placed in the "Unread Topics" and "Unread Replies", is that what you mean?

While browsing the forums or when you click on Unread Topics was my thinking.  Seems about right.  Used to different format of forums is all.   Cheesy

How about a "Quick Reply" Box at the bottom of the page? This will make replying to posts much easier, faster, and overall more efficient. Of course, the quick reply box should be very basic when compared to the conventional way of replying. If you are confused about what I'm talking about, here's an example of what I'm talking about:

I took a SS of a quick reply box on another forum that i frequently go to :-)

I hope this helps!

Maybe a way to list all the threads you have posted in

Do you mean the "Updated Topics" page, where it displays the topics that you have replied in?

I can't necessarily post a URL link, because the Session ID in the link is (I believe) different from time to time. But if you look up at the top under the "Octalk" banner, you will see some of the following links:

Home, Help, Search, Rules, etc, and you will see "Unread Topics" and Updated Topics

@Trey, You can activate the Quick Reply box by going into Profile --> Look and Layout Preferences --> Then find the drop down box that says "Use quick reply on topic display:" and set it to "Show, on by default" Lol, I'm using the quick reply to type this right now. xD

I don't really care about reading all the other posts, I just saw the first one, by Colin. I WOULD LOVE A FACEPALM SMILEY!!! I don't know if this was mentioned before but I don't care.

More smileys would be nice, but some sub headings on the Subject of Topics would be cool too.

Encouragers would be nice to have! I would apply for the position if it's approved by the mods and ads of the octalk forum! (BlackDragon Laugh!)

Oh yeah thanks for reminding me Xavior! I presented the idea for a position known as an Encourager to Peavey recently and he's going to talk to the other Mods and Ads when he get the chance to see if it will happen! I'll explain! An Encourager is a position in a large group, club or forum that's welcomes members new and old to the forum and members who logged on to the forum! They make people feel happy, welcomed and at home on the forum! They also keep group moral up high! (BlackDragon's Words of Wisdom) ANY QUESTIONS?!!! (BlackDragon Demon Stare!)

How about an expanded version of the FAQ as a sticky in the QandA section?

It can include the BBC stuff as well as the list of ocarina terms, that is somewhere on this forum.

...oh here it is!

and maybe a link to my music theory thread??...??  Not sure how awesome it is but I would be ever grateful to receive such an honor.
