Maparam is a good brand.  It may be a little more expensive than some other brands, but I think it is worth the money.

I love my Triple AC!

I do wish that I had experience with more brands to compare though.

I received the Maparam Double Alto C yesterday and boy-oh-boy I am impressed. Almost right away, I could  tell that that this was the best ocarina I have ever played in terms of sound and crafsmanship. The tone color is balanced extremely well between the chambers, there is virtually no airiness at all on the top of the first chamber (much different than the story with the Focalink Double), and it's extremely comfortable to hold because of the ergonomic design. It's a little small, though; probably a little too small for people with large hands. But this is truly a professional level ocarina. It's the first ocarina I've played that I would call a true professional level instrument without doubt.

This is definitely worth the price. Worth every penny. Cheesy
